Ontario’s first collaborative mental health care platform designed by and for psychiatrists.

If you’re a psychiatrist who wants to focus on clinical care—not paperwork or politics—Psychotherapy Matters Virtual Collaboration (PMVC) is built for you.

Join us to help build the sustainable future of outpatient mental healthcare

Our model is rooted in collaboration and caring. We offer a unique opportunity to practice psychiatry as part of a supportive, interdisciplinary team, with full administrative backing and province-wide reach.

What makes Psychotherapy Matters Virtual Collaboration (PMVC) different

Practice psychiatry, not administration

We handle scheduling, billing, documentation, and follow-up. You focus on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Never work in isolation

Every consultation is conjoint with a referring therapist, and includes collaboration with the patient’s primary care provider. You’re always part of a care team.

Make a timely impact

Most patients are seen within a few weeks. Therapists and PCPs provide ongoing support, helping implement your recommendations with continuity.

Expand your reach

Offer virtual consultations to patients across Ontario, including those in rural and underserved areas—without ever leaving your home office.

Join a clinician-led network

PMVC is a grassroots, psychiatrist-founded initiative. We value professional autonomy, collaborative innovation, and meaningful mentorship.

Opportunities to lead programs and collaborate

PMVC offers psychiatrists a unique platform to expand their impact through three complementary streams:

Specialized assessment programs

Join our growing range of focused assessment programs, designed to streamline collaboration and improve patient care. Current programs include:

  • ADHD Assessment Program – Comprehensive evaluations conducted jointly with a referring therapist, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment Program – Structured assessments with therapist collaboration to support accurate diagnosis and coordinated follow-up care.
  • Combined Assessment Program – Flexible pathway for cases where ADHD and ASD assessments may overlap, allowing for integrated clinical insights.

Delivered within the PMVC collaborative care framework, these programs connect psychiatrists directly with therapists, enhancing the quality, timeliness, and relevance of recommendations while strengthening referral networks.

Group therapy leadership

PMVC psychiatrists can lead or co-lead group therapy programs, drawing on their clinical expertise and personal areas of interest. Whether centered on a specific therapeutic modality (e.g., CBT, DBT, MBCT, psychodynamic, psychoeducation) or a population/issue they are passionate about (e.g., mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, grief), PMVC provides the framework and administrative support to develop and deliver these programs effectively.

We have a clear process to support psychiatrists as program leads, including assistance with program design, therapist pairing, and participant recruitment, enabling psychiatrists to bring their vision to life in a collaborative, professionally supported environment.

Support for implementation of any program

If a psychiatrist has a concept for a clinical, educational, or research-based program that falls outside existing PMVC offerings, we can help bring it to life. Our team provides the infrastructure, administrative resources, and collaborative network to support every stage of implementation — from concept development and partner recruitment to promotion and delivery — ensuring that innovative ideas can become operational and impactful.
