Success Story
Many of my clients come to me carrying deep trauma, often struggling with addiction or profound disconnection from their bodies. One client, an incest survivor, arrived feeling completely detached from herself. Alongside the emotional distress, she experienced debilitating period symptoms that left her bedridden for three days each month. She had tried various approaches for relief, but nothing provided lasting change. As we worked together, I introduced her to yoga as a gentle and safe way to reconnect with her body. I guided her through Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutation) and encouraged her to practice it every night for a week before and after her period. After her first cycle following this practice, she was amazed—her period was entirely pain-free for the first time in years. However, the emotional and mental turmoil remained. Encouraged by this shift, she continued the practice. By the next cycle, not only had the physical symptoms stayed away, but the emotional and mental distress had also begun to ease. With each passing month, she felt lighter, more in control, and increasingly at peace with her body. This was a breakthrough moment. Through consistent practice, she had unlocked something deep within—releasing stored trauma, regulating her nervous system, and allowing her body to move in harmony rather than resistance. Moon Salutation became a cornerstone of her self-care, transforming her relationship with her body from one of fear to one of trust.
Her journey reaffirmed for me just how profound yoga can be as a tool for healing—not just mentally and emotionally, but physically as well. When we learn to move with our bodies rather than against them, profound transformation unfolds.
