Ricky is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and Clinical Supervisor in Orillia, Ontario, specializing in relationship issues, anxiety, and depression.

"I’m typically relaxed and conversational and try to help people get to the heart of their issues. I specialize in helping people get 'unstuck' from patterns and problems that keep repeating, even when they’ve tried to fix them on their own. I love asking thoughtful questions and re-framing your situation so you can approach it in ways you haven’t considered before. I’ve learned that there is no “one-size-fits-all” therapy model but that the therapeutic process requires a unique and authentic understanding of each person's needs.

I’m not afraid to provide direction and honest thoughts when needed, but I strive to do it in a way that respects your values. I believe that being a good therapist means being a dedicated student of the craft, which means I spend a lot of time reading, learning, and occasionally rethinking things I once thought I had figured out. It's a part of the job I find deeply rewarding and ensures my practice is always evolving for the better."

Success Story

A couple came to therapy feeling stuck in the same arguments, frustrated that they couldn’t seem to understand each other or see why they kept repeating the same patterns. She often felt like her emotions were being dismissed, while he felt quickly overwhelmed and believed she was getting too worked up over issues he thought should stay calm and practical. Conversations escalated quickly, leaving both partners feeling unheard and misunderstood. Through the use of Integrative Behavioural Couple Therapy (IBCT) strategies, they began to identify key differences in how each of them approached conflict, emotion, and problem-solving—differences that had been fueling their cycle of disconnection. Once those patterns were clearly understood, they were able to shift from blaming each other to working together. Over time, they developed practical ways of communicating that fit their personalities and values, allowing them to resolve issues more effectively and feel more connected in their day-to-day relationship.
