Full Bio:

Colleen’s approach to trauma, anxiety, and relational concerns is deeply rooted in psychological principles and evidence-based practices that honor the complexity of each client’s journey. Drawing inspiration from renowned trauma specialists like Gabor Maté, Peter Levine, and Deb Dana, she integrates concepts of compassionate inquiry and systems regulation—and attachment theory recognized by these pioneers as essential for navigating the challenging pathways of recovery.

Colleen utilizes strategies that elevate clients toward embracing resilience, empowering clients to become their best selves, carefully attending to each concern one conversation at a time. Her nurturing, compassionate approach not only fiercely advocates for self-compassion for clients healing, she ensures that each step of the journey together is supported with empathy, care, evidence – based scientifically informed insight.

In her work with those who struggle with ADHD, late diagnosis of ADHD, Colleen provides space that nurtures clients to explore what is working, and for the client to decide what needs to change for effective management in their working relationships and intimate partnerships. Considerations for future growth and development are drawn from clinical training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Adult ADHD, and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), an intense emotional response to

perceived or actual rejection or criticism, characterized by overwhelming emotions and distress, often associated with ADHD, (though not a formal diagnosis), is validated, understood, explained and how this relates to creating successful relationships.

Colleen has extensive experience working with attachment theory in formulating what may be foundational to clients’ responses to events in their lives. Often, if attachment trauma is present in the client's history, emotional regulation can be extremely challenging. Colleen provides a nurturing, safe environment that validates but also pushes toward a better understanding of why the responses are felt so deeply for some, yet not deep enough for others.

Colleen weaves an experienced, compassionate blend of eclectic, yet familiar modalities that reassure clients working with her that she is a fierce advocate for client centered care and that they have the power to change and improve their lives, becoming the best version of themselves.
