Originally from the Tyendinaga area, I have worked in the mental health field for over 25 years, in both private practice and in a hospital setting. Clinical experience and training with children, adolescents and adults over the years, allows for treating a diverse population.
I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology from York University and a Master of Arts in Counselling from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (# 001878).
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is my usual modality of therapy, which is often identified as one of the most effective forms of therapy for dealing with mood and anxiety problems. As a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, I also utilize a First Nations perspective on mental and overall health, with a focus on balance in various aspects of one’s life. I have also received training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR and Anger Solutions.
My approach is client centred, with a focus on helping clients identify and achieve their goals. I look forward to helping you navigate life’s journey.
