Jennifer is a Registered Social Worker with the OCSWSSW (Ontario College of Social Workers and
Social Service Workers) and OASW (Ontario Association of Social Workers). She holds a Master’s
Degree in Social Work from University of Toronto and an Undergraduate Degree in Social Work from
Ryerson University. Jennifer has over 20 years of experience working in various Non-For-Profit
agencies including Youth Shelters, Group Homes, Youthdale and Open Custody. Jennifer also has 10
years’ experience in child protection and foster care, providing support to children, families and
individuals experiencing ongoing verbal and physical conflict, challenges in parenting, mental health,
substance misuse and other life challenges.
Jennifer offers compassionate and sensitive support to children, adolescents, adults and families
experiencing issues relating to anxiety, depression, stress, mood disorder, trauma, abuse and
self-esteem. She applies a variety of methods in her work including, Family Systems, CBT, DBT and
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Her goal is to improve the lives of clients by enhancing their social
and emotional growth and providing solutions to enhance their mental health and well-being.
Jennifer has extensive experience working with “hard to serve” populations in a variety of social
work settings. She has 23 years of experience working with clients affected by mental health
diagnoses and addictions. As a clinician and community service worker, Jennifer has developed
comprehensive assessments, treatment and discharge plans for clients served within medical,
treatment, child welfare and correctional programs. She has acquired highly developed clinical,
organizational and client service skills. As a result, she has excellent crisis intervention skills to
determine the degree of risk to the community as well as diffuse potentially hostile situations.
Jennifer has also acquired an excellent working knowledge of the Family and Criminal Justice Systems
and as a result of her experience, she has developed exceptional skills in supporting anyone facing
these dilemmas by giving them a voice and providing the opportunity to be heard.
