Valley Connections Counselling Inc.
Clinic — Psychotherapy Provider (Counsellor, Registered Psychotherapist)
Accepting new clients
Welcome to Valley Connections Counselling. I'm Amanda Youssef, Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Director. Along with our other Registered Psychotherapists and Counsellors, we provide counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, children and youth/adolescents, and families in our clinics in Dundas (Hamilton) and Burlington, Ontario. We are a trauma-informed centre, we welcome clients from all backgrounds, and we are LGBTQIA positive. Valley Connections Counselling also offers Clinical Supervision and Consultation services recognized by the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO) to mental health practitioners.
Our strength is relationships - our priority is to build healthy and connected relationships with our clients, and you will see this every step of the way, from the first time you contact us. We offer free initial consultations, so that you can meet your therapist before beginning therapy, and decide if you are the right fit for each other.
We have therapists who specialize in Children, Adolescents and Behavioural issues, as well as therapists who specialize in Eating Disorders, Addictions, Trauma, and Domestic Violence. We also specialize in Parenting Support, and Perinatal Mood Disorders. We treat mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and anxiety disorders including OCD, Panic Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
We use creative and evidence-based approaches including Play Therapy, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and incorporate the use of our Therapy Dogs in our sessions.

Our relationships with our clients provide the evidence of our skills in forming the therapeutic alliance that is statistically the most important factor when seeking therapy! Our clients return, sometimes years after finishing a round of therapy, whenever they are facing a new stressor or life transition. They refer their colleagues, friends, and family members, and sometimes see several practitioners in our office for individual treatment, couples therapy, and family therapy. Our clients stay with us for as long as they need our support - we have clients we see for a few sessions, and many we work with for several years! We believe that people are adaptive and resilient, and that everyone needs help sometimes. We aim to build bridges in the gaps we have encountered when seeking our own therapy, and we are devoted to a life of helping.
