I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with 11 years of experience as a therapist, and a background in community development and social services. I draw on contemporary research in neuroscience and attachment theory, and integrate relational, body-based (somatic), mindfulness, and client-centered therapies to create an individualized approach that is unique and responsive to each person’s goals and needs. Influenced by my background in community development, my work is also informed by a commitment to anti-oppression, anti-racism, and social justice. I believe our challenges do not exist in a vacuum. Together, we will explore how your experiences in the world – from dominant structures, to culture and belief systems – shape both your well-being and attempts to get well. We’ll experiment with new forms of self-support and expression to explore how to support yourself with greater compassion and self-awareness, creating the foundation for lasting personal growth.
Many of my clients have previous therapy experience and are interested in exploring a new approach beyond traditional cognitive therapy. My areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, trauma and cPTSD, stress, burn-out, life transitions, family/relationship conflict, low self-esteem, substance use, chronic illness and disability, and traumatic brain injury.
My practice is trauma-informed, sex, kink, and polyam positive, and dedicated to the uplifting of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
