I am registered by the College of Psychologists of Ontario to practice in the areas of clinical and school psychology for children, teens, and adults. For many years, I have provided psychoeducational assessments for persons of all ages who are experiencing difficulties with learning and/or attention, as well as providing treatment support to persons experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, ritual abuse, or recovering from cancer and other serious illnesses. I also have training in spirituality and transpersonal psychology to be able to support and assist individuals experiencing a spiritual emergency or paranormal phenomena.
When providing treatment, I consider the body, mind and spirit as an integrated whole that is profoundly capable of self-healing and growth no matter what life experiences have occurred. My treatment approach is eclectic in order to try to meet the needs and preferences of each individual. When stress or trauma are involved, I often work with relaxation, meditation, guided imagery and other complimentary healing practices to help my clients manage stress, recover and grow from challenging experiences of all kinds.
I am also happy to provide Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) at facilities located in Rockwood and Loretto. Horses are wonderfully sensitive and aware beings who help us to see ourselves more clearly and to consciously choose to change behaviours that might be getting in our way. Horses are very forgiving and they never lie. When it seems difficult to trust another human, sometime it is a horse that can reach through to create new trust and safety.
