Supportive Family Services is a Group Private Practice that provides quality Counselling and Psychotherapy to Adults, Children, Families and Couples in Vaughan and North York, Ontario, Canada.

Focusing on strengths, abilities and feelings of people that consult with us, Supportive Family Services helps its clients to move forward and make positive changes in their lives.

The director and main Psychotherapist at Supportive Family Services is Patricia A. Weinberg, who holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Psychology, as well as an Ontario Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science (high honours) and an advanced certificate in Family Mediation.

Patricia is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She is a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP) and is a former Clinical and Board Member of the Canadian Association of Psychoanalytic Child Therapists (CAPCT).

Patricia has worked in several settings such as hospitals, mental health institutions, treatment centres, group homes, daycares, nursery schools, private and public schools. She has provided quality mental health services to adults, couples, children and families in Canada and abroad, since 1996, which makes her very respectful of diversity, both in ability and culture. She is always advocating for the well-being of families and its individual members.

Patricia is continuously learning new strategies, approaches and theories participating in different workshops and trainings. As she received part of her formal education, courses and professional development abroad, as well as in Canada, her approach is unique, combining psychodynamics with a behavioural theory. She provides long-term therapy as well as brief therapy, according to the client’s needs.

Supportive Family Services has different professionals with diverse qualifications, expertise and backgrounds, which allows to offer our services in different languages, with different approaches and fees.
