The Refuge: Centre for Healing and Recovery

Clinic — Psychotherapy Provider (Psychologist Associate, Registered Psychotherapist, Social worker (clinical))

Our team is specialized in the latest treatment approaches for stress, complex early developmental trauma, shock trauma/PTSD, and other forms of trauma, dysregulation, and grief that underlie addictions, eating disorders, chronic pain, relational patterns and complex health syndromes. Our approach incorporates working with the body, nervous system, attachment dynamics, survival responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn), dissociation, fragmented parts of the personality, body memory and holding patterns, anxiety/panic, fear, hypervigilance, depression/collapse, anger, shame, and the ways you adapted to cope and survive. We are embodiment-focused, diversity-sensitive and our style is highly practical, relational and experiential.

Programs

We offer individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and various group workshops and group programs. Some services are provided to children and youth. Three of our therapists work as supervised associates of a registered psychologist, for those wish to have the support and involvement of a clinical psychologist in their care.
