Our young adult years can be formative in how we navigate the rest of our lives. Often times, we're faced with challenges such as conflict in relationships, low self-esteem, excessive worry, feelings of depression, or the impacts of traumatic events from our past. Discovering how to understand and adapt to these challenges is the core of therapeutic work. Development of sustainable skills and insights for present and future concerns will be developed in a safe(r) environment, where we'll collaborate to help you feel empowered to discuss, process and problem solve the issues that most concern you.
Our approach to therapy will cater to your preferences, circumstances and needs, while ensuring it is trauma-informed and evidence-based. You can expect a caring environment, where we use therapies such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy to help you live a more enriching and rewarding life.
With so much of the therapeutic outcome being dependent on the relationship between client and practitioner, I believe it’s important to foster an authentic and genuine connection. I currently work at an outpatient clinic providing individual and group therapy to clients with a variety of presenting concerns, prior to this, I worked in both crisis counselling and inpatient mental health. In addition to my psychotherapy experience, I worked as a mental health Peer Supporter for various universities and community organizations, providing both individual and group peer support to those with lived experience of mental health concerns. I carry this experience into my therapy practice by using my own lived experiences to connect with clients and help them feel understood.
If you'd like to explore the possibility of working together, please call or e-mail me with the information on this page. Sessions take place virtually over a secure platform.
