Psychotherapy Matters Virtual Collaboration

The “Virtual Collaboration” logo means the therapist can work together collaboratively with a primary care provider and psychiatrist.

Psychotherapy Matters Virtual Collaboration

If you and your therapist feel that you might benefit from a consultation with a psychiatrist, the Virtual Collaboration allows the therapist to work collaboratively with you, your primary care physician, and a psychiatrist. Psychiatrists are medical doctors specializing in mental health issues. As medical doctors, psychiatrists differ from other mental health professionals because they can assist in making diagnoses, suggest investigations and offer medication, psychotherapy and other treatment recommendations.

The psychiatrist will only be present via video conferencing. With your consent, the psychiatric consultation will occur in your therapist’s office or together with your therapist online, and with everyone working as a team.
