Providers of Psychotherapy Services must meet the criteria of the Ontario Psychotherapy Act (2007). This includes the following professionals:

Medical doctors – College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Nurses – College of Nurses of Ontario
Occupational Therapists – College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Social workers – Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
Psychologists – College of Psychologists of Ontario
Psychotherapists and registered mental health therapists – College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario

Complementary/alternative services
Many talented and helpful providers and practitioners of a wide range of services are not specifically licensed to offer psychotherapy services or may choose not to provide psychotherapy. This includes the following professionals:

Acupuncturist – College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario
Chiropractor – College of Chiropractors of Ontario
Clergy
Counsellor
Dietician – College of Dietitians of Ontario
