I’m Rebecca, a Registered Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience working in mental health and substance use settings. I have supported individuals, families, and communities navigating mental health, trauma, grief, identity, and major life transitions.

I provide counselling that is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented. My work is grounded in respect for each person’s autonomy, dignity, and capacity for change.

My counselling style is warm, collaborative, and deeply human. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe enough to show up as you are. You may feel overwhelmed, hopeful, uncertain, resilient, messy, funny, hurting, or all of the above.

I bring honesty, compassion, and humour into my work. Together, we can explore what has shaped you, what feels heavy right now, and what you want for your future.

Much of my career has been shaped by harm reduction, and frontline mental health work in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. These experiences continue to inform how I understand healing.

I foster a deep understanding that mental health intersects with poverty, housing insecurity, stigma, trauma, culture, identity, family systems, or systemic inequity. Because of this, I aim to offer counselling that is inclusive, non-judgmental, and anti-oppressive. I base my work in an appreciation of the difficulty of day-to-day stressors and an understanding that any goal someone sets for themself has immense value and importance within the broader perspective.

I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma, ADHD, grief and loss, caregiver burnout, chronic illness, shame, low self-worth, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship stress, family conflict, and major life transitions.

I also offer LGBTQIA+ affirming counselling, neurodiversity-affirming support, disability-affirming care, and culturally responsive therapy for people from diverse backgrounds and identities.

My approach draws from person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, and integrative counselling approaches.

Depending on what feels most useful, our work together may be brief and focused. It may also be longer-term and reflective. Either way, our therapeutic relationship will begin where you feel most comfortable.

My goal is to listen carefully and build a counselling relationship that feels safe, meaningful, and practical.

At the heart of my work is the genuine belief that people can move toward the lives they want, even when things have been incredibly hard.

I offer a compassionate, grounded space where you can feel understood, reconnect with your strengths, and take the next step at your own pace.
